Two-PC DMA Setup: What You Need to Get Started
The Two-PC Concept
A DMA setup requires two computers working together. Your gaming PC plays the game as normal, while a second reading PC handles the software side through a DMA card. This separation is what makes DMA so effective — nothing suspicious ever runs on the gaming PC.
What You Need
Gaming PC
- Your regular gaming computer — whatever you already play on
- One available PCIe slot (any size: x1, x4, x8, or x16 works)
- That's it — no special software or drivers needed on this machine
DMA Card
- A PCIe DMA card with custom firmware installed
- This card plugs into the PCIe slot on your gaming PC
- It connects to the reading PC via a high-speed cable
Reading PC
- Does not need to be powerful — an old laptop or budget desktop works fine
- Needs a USB 3.0 port (or Thunderbolt, depending on the card)
- Windows 10 or 11 recommended
- This is where the reading software runs
Cables & Accessories
- USB or Thunderbolt cable to connect the DMA card to the reading PC
- Optional: Fuser device for single-monitor overlay
- Optional: KM Box or Makcu for hardware input
Basic Setup Flow
- Install the DMA card into an available PCIe slot on your gaming PC
- Connect the DMA card to your reading PC with the appropriate cable
- Boot up both computers
- On the reading PC, install the required software (provided with your purchase)
- Launch the game on your gaming PC and start the software on the reading PC
- The reading PC will display game information read through the DMA card
